We are delighted to announce the launch of the APOIS-TIES Imaging Competition 2025, an international platform celebrating the power of visual storytelling through ophthalmic imaging. This year’s theme:

Vision Beyond Limits –
Team-Based Imaging Challenge

— invites eye care professionals, imaging experts, and researchers to share images that transcend the clinical to reveal compelling visual narratives from the world of ophthalmology. Organized jointly by the Asia-Pacific Ocular Imaging Society (APOIS) and the First Tsinghua International Eye Symposium (TIES), this prestigious competition is hosted in partnership with the Beijing Eye Research Institute, Tsinghua University. This initiative aims to showcase the aesthetic, scientific, and emotional dimensions of eye health through imaging. We are looking for photographs that don't just demonstrate technique, but tell a story — about discovery, diagnosis, innovation, or the human experience through the lens of the eye.

Who Can Participate?

Open to clinicians, researchers, fellows, residents, and imaging technologists across all ophthalmic subspecialties. If your image tells a story, this platform is for you. It is however, essential for each participant to sign-up as APOIS member using the following link before participating in the competition.

What We’re Looking For?

We welcome:

• Striking clinical images

• Creative imaging from research or education

• Photographs that provoke thought, tell a human story, or shed light on unseen perspectives in ophthalmology

Why Participate?

• Top entries will be invited to the Grand Finale in Beijing, China

• Winning images will be featured on the official APOIS web portal

• Selected images will be showcased at major APOIS and TIES international conferences
